The Treasure of Riverwood Manor

This is a mod for the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and features some player homes near Riverwood for beginners, a treasure hunt, new quests, unique NPCs and followers, powerful equipment, weapons, spells, several Easter eggs and many more.

Player Homes

A small Player Home near Riverwood with everything you need for a good start. The estate contains things like forge, workbench, smelter, grain mill, garden with fertile soils for planting, an oven, a functional butterchurn for homemade butter as well as training dummies with which you can improve your skills and much more.

The house is fully Hearthfire compatible, which means your whole family can move in, but you need to install the MOD Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions for this to work, which is optional. If you don't want your family to move in, you don't need to install that mod.

A Second Player Home has been added in mod version 1.9 and is located in the Sewers of Riverwood Manor.

NPCs and Creatures

Many NPCs and creatures, such as merchants, trainers, followers and opponents have been added. See NPCs and Creatures.

Equipment and Weapons

The mod contains powerful Equipment, Weapons and Spells which are optimal for end game or higher difficulties. Beginners will profit massively from new gear provided that they manage to find the treasure and other goodies.

Spells

Many new powerful Spells have been added. You can find them on the treasure hunt as well in treasure chests scattered all over the area.

Books

Several Books and Notes have been added in this mod. Some of them will provide some interesting background stories. Many notes are scattered all over the place containing useful hints related to the treasure hunt. Make sure you read them all.

Ingredients and Potions

There are some new Ingredients and powerful Potions that you can find. Some of these can also be purchased from merchants.

Gameplay

Merchant inventories now reset every 24 hours instead of 48 hours as in the original game.

The limit for training units per level has been increased to 25.

An improvement was included to get followers and almost any NPC to move further back when pushed out of the way.

Includes a fix for the annoying noises that play when entering a room with enchanted weapons displayed on weapon racks. This is global and should work for any home the player owns.

Easter eggs

The mod provides some funny and useful Easter eggs you may find during the treasure hunt. Will you find them all?

Version 2.0.8

  • Added a switch in the portal room in the library in case the player has been trapped there when teleporting from the vanilla houses.
  • Fixed an issue where the portal gems of the vanilla houses could not be activated from a certain angle near the werewolf statues.

  • Changed the "For Sale" sign and fixed an issue in case the "For Sale" note wasn't picked up by the player.
  • Wendy now has a larger AI radius for sandboxing.
  • Added new idle markers for Wendy.
  • Changed the benches in front of the house.

  • Changed the magic mirror in the Lower Rooms of the Cursed House.
  • Added crates and barrels to the Lower Rooms of the Cursed House.
  • Added ambient sounds and music in some areas.
  • Revised the doors and the teleportation effect of the Cursed House. Now it is possible for followers to enter and leave the house.
  • The werewolf statues in the Library will now come to live when activated. You can talk to them, but be careful! (Just a warning...)
  • Lowered the amount of gold you can get from the Stone of Wealth.
  • Lowered the price for the main house.
  • Added a small Easter egg.

Version 2.0.6

  • Added two "hidden" areas to the library.
  • Added a swimming pool in the basement.
  • Added a teleportation system.
  • Added "Pine Lake" (mod) to the teleportation system. (If you don't have this mod installed, it will simply teleport you near Whiterun.)
  • Added some special mirrors where you can change your appearance. (Not possible as a vampire to prevent unwanted effects.)
  • Improved the mirror in the bathroom.
  • Skill books now only increase the corresponding skill once per day.
  • Added more skill books (now 18 in total).
  • M'aiq's book has been slightly revised.
  • Added a special magic book in the basement that grants mighty powers.
  • Added two lecterns with special magic books in the library.
  • NPCs now also undress when entering the bath water.
  • The "House For Sale" notice has been moved to a "For Sale" sign. (It might load even though you have already bought the house. Fixes itself.)
  • Increased the purchase prices for the player homes.

Version 2.0.5

  • Added a small magic effect to the dragon skull above the door.
  • Improved the mist when "heating" the bath water.
  • Added an 8 hour buff when sitting in the bathing pool. The water has to be heated for this to work.
  • It is now possible to ride the Sabre Cat Marcus. Note: This is an experimental feature and and some oddities might happen.
  • Marcus is now leveling up to level 80 and has become significantly stronger.
  • All followers should not trigger traps anymore.
  • Changed the lighting in the basement when switching lights on and off.

  • Changed the entrances to the sewers and added sounds.
  • Added three small barrels to tap special potions once a day in the downstairs living room.
