The Mystery of Pine Lake

This is a mod for the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and features a player home near Whiterun, legendary treasures, some new quests, unique NPCs and followers, powerful equipment, weapons, spells, several Easter eggs and many more.

Player Home

A Player Home near Whiterun with everything you need. The estate contains things like blacksmith forge, workbenches, smelters, grain mill, garden with fertile soils for planting, an oven as well as some training dummies with which you can improve your skills and much more.

The house is fully Hearthfire compatible, which means your whole family can move in, but you need to install the MOD Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions for this to work, which is optional. If you don't want your family to move in, you don't need to install that mod.

Equipment and Weapons

The mod features powerful Equipment, Weapons and Spells which are optimal for end game or higher difficulties. Beginners will profit massively from new gear.

Spells

Some new Spells have been added. You can find them in treasure chests during the quests.

Books

Several Skill Books have been added to merchants in this mod, 18 in total. They will teach you the corresponding skill infinitely. Make sure to buy them all if you can afford the money.

Potions

You can tap many new powerful Potions from barrels in the secret area of the basement.

Locations

New Locations have been added. There is a new cave and sewers to explore to complete the quests.

  • Fixed an issue where Vincent would be aggressive towards everyone after being dismissed (may not work midgame).

Version 1.9

  • Fixed and improved the gargoyles in the basement.
  • Fixed a potential light flickering issue upstairs. This will also prevent the troll from making any noise as long as the player is upstairs.
  • Added two strong dog companions to the house. They can be ordered to leave the house and vice versa, if you wish.
  • Added a dialog option to Cooks-Many-Soups to dismiss the dogs too.
  • Fixed several idle markers not being used by the NPCs.
  • Added more decoration to the house.
  • Added additional light switches upstairs.
  • Added more ambient dust beams upstairs.
  • Added some dagger display cases on the upper floor. (If you load a save while inside the house, they may not work. Just re-enter the cell.)
  • Fixed an issue where the player was dropped to the ground floor when re-entering the house from the southern viewing platform.
  • Several items in the house has been replaced with static versions to prevent them from being tossed around.

Version 1.8

  • Fixed incorrect position of some walls causing gaps.
  • Changed the "For Sale" sign and fixed an issue in case the note wasn't picked up by the player.
  • Added much more details and special chests to the basement.
  • Added a new room in the basement. (accessible via the greenhouse)
  • Added a special blessing that grants 100% faster regeneration to all attributes for 8 hours.
  • Added washbasins in the bathroom that grant 25% more damage with any weapon for 8 hours.
  • Cooks-Many-Soups and Nicole now use the bathroom and pool in the late afternoon and evening respectively.
  • The granary outside has been moved and modified slightly to make it more compatible with Ryn's Whiterun City Limits.
  • Added a trapdoor on the outside of the granary leading to the greenhouse in the basement.
  • Fixed an issue where Vanfridd's blessing would not dispel correctly if the player received another blessing.
  • The carry weight increase value of Vanfriddh's blessing has been reduced to 100.

Version 1.7

  • Added much more details and special containers to the house.
  • Added Castle Volkihar to the teleportation system.
  • Added all vanilla and hearthfire houses to the teleportation system.
  • Added "Riverwood Manor" (mod) to the teleportation system. (If you don't have this mod installed, it will simply teleport you near Riverwood.)
  • The damage of the power "Apocalypse" has been reduced.
  • The cost of rebuilding Malacath's Shrine has been increased.
  • Fixed a missing dialog condition.
  • The "House For Sale" notice has been moved to a "For Sale" sign. (It might load even though you have already bought the house. Fixes itself.)
  • Added a signpost near the house.
  • The wardrobe next to the counter was replaced and moved upstairs to the children's room.
  • Some details in the main quest have been changed.

Version 1.6

  • Fixed an issue with the light switch in the troll room when Enhanced Lights and FX is installed.
  • Fixed several issues when Proventus Avenicci has been replaced with Brill after the Stormcloaks took Whiterun.
  • Added a light switch in the library.
  • Added a swimming pool in the basement.
  • Relocated and improved the mirror in the bathroom.
  • Added some mirrors where you can change the character's appearance. (Not possible if you are a vampire to prevent unwanted effects.)
  • Added a special portal in the basement.
  • Added a special magic book in the basement that grants mighty powers.
  • Added a new quest: The Shrine of Malacath. (Just investigate the new area in the basement).
  • M'aiq's book has been revised slightly.
  • Removed the forced third person view when undressing and entering the bath water.
  • NPCs now also undress when entering the bath water.
  • Added a special stone in the exterior where you can exchange dragon souls for perk points.
  • Increased the purchase price for the house to 7500 gold.

  • The Absorb Health enchantment of the Madness Sword was incorrectly having a damage over time effect.
  • Changed the ambient music in the interior of the house.
  • Added a functional butter churn in the kitchen area.
  • Cooks-Many-Soups now sells milk needed to make butter.
  • Fixed a small clipping issue on the ground at the main entrance.
  • Fixed some small gaps on the ground near the wood chopping block.
  • Reverted some dirty landscape edits.

  • The Amber and Madness Helmets were incorrectly having a stamina increase instead of a stamina regen.
  • You will now undress automatically when bathing (water needs to be "heated").

  • Made the granary visible to the outside.
  • Changed the interior and lighting of the granary.
  • Added several trees to the exterior.
  • Changed the standard fence around the building.
  • It's now possible to change the fence around the forge and garden. Just ask Cooks-Many-Soups about it.
  • The amount of gold you can get from the Stone of Wealth has been reduced.
  • Added sunbeams in the interior of the house.
  • Added a small magic effect to the dragon skull above the door.
  • Added sunlight to the inner cave entrance.
